Not only is her post on the Arizona law titled Breathing While Undocumented [New York Times, April 26, 2010] when the whole point is that people are doing their breathing on the wrong side of the US border, where not only Federal law but international law forbids them to be, but she goes on to say "Wasn’t the system of internal passports one of the most distasteful features of life in the Soviet Union and apartheid-era South Africa?"
They're not supposed to produce internal passports, they're supposed to produce external passports.They're in a foreign country, after all.That's the point.
