The Wall Street Journal has an editorial [Eric Holder's 2014 Racial Politics, October 8, 2013] saying that Holder's suit to resume the "preclearance" provisions  of the Voting Rights Act is grandstanding intended to gin up resentment among black voters, as in 2012

“Portraying voter ID laws as racist helped to drive Democratic voter turnout among minorities in 2012, and the White House wants a repeat in 2014. Never mind if the suits eventually fail in court. The goal is to elect more Democrats in the meantime, even if it means needlessly increasing racial polarization.”

It’s not needless. They really need racial polarization.

Well, Obama and the Democrats need blacks to be polarized. Steve Sailer’s article on the results of the 2012 election was called Census Bureau Refutes “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” Mantra—Obama Won Because Of Old Black Ladies (And Turned-Off Whites).

We know, because they boasted of it, that the NAACP and the Obama campaign ramped up black turnout with a  "Don’t let them take away your vote!" message.” [Black Voter Turnout Is Up. Will That Persist?By Corey Dale, The Root, May 12, 2013]

We also know, because they boast about it, that white Republicans like Romney, McCain, and George W. Bush have made no attempt to appeal to white interests at all.

So, yes, the Democrats need black racial polarization, but,  as shown  by Republican success in places like Alabama , where whites give the GOP 88 percent of their vote, they can’t afford to allow any kind of white polarization at all. That’s why the hatred and persecution of the Tea Party.
