All these years the GOP has been permitting and sometimes even encouraging mass immigration, and we've been lectured that immigrants, particularly Hispanics, are natural conservatives. Here at VDARE.COM we've been warning against such suicidal policies.

In an address to the Ripon Society, Michael Dimock of Pew Research discussed demographic trends, and basically advised the Republican Party to abandon small government conservatism:

For the first time in American history, non-whites will make up half or more of the next generation, likely pushing Washington toward a bigger government — and the GOP better tone down their anti-government rhetoric if they want to win them, according to a top polling outfit. At a briefing for congressional aides hosted by the moderate Republican Ripon Society, Pew Research Vice President Michael Dimock said that the trend among younger Americans is support for government programs and acceptance of Democratic Party policies. “Their tendency is more liberal, their tendency is bigger government,” he said of so-called “millennials” born between 1979 and 1995. They will likely set the trend for the still-unnamed next generation.

“This is a generation that is 41 percent non-white; the generation behind it is likely to be close to 50 if not more than 50 percent non-white, and the anti-government kind of tone is one that really doesn’t resonate with that non-white sector in particular,” said Dimock at the Ripon retreat.

His advice to the GOP: “Try to take as much of the anti-government rhetoric out.”...

A few comments:

I. Notice how fast the Mainstream Media and related opinion-makers are to write off American's historical white majority. It's almost as if they want whites to hurry up and become a minority.

II. Nevertheless, whites are still in the majority, and demographic trends could be slowed and could even reverse.

III. A drastic reduction in immigration (legal and illegal, which are now just two sides of the same coin) could at least slow the demographic transition.

IV. A new nationalistic political party calling for an immigration cutoff and other reforms beneficial to the historic American nation could be successful, if it had courageous leadership. So where are such leaders?

V. Whatever happens, American whites need to stop living in the past, shed their irrational fear of being called "racist", and start looking out for their interests. Why not? The other major racial/ethnic groups are looking out for theirs!
