It seems
as if another figure in the Conservative Establishment
is beginning to get realistic about immigration and
the GOP's electoral chances. Frontpage Magazine,
which is edited by David Horowitz, just published this
piece:

While Horowitz himself didn't write the article, he
doesn't run pieces with which he has substantial
disagreement. Don't be put off by the article's title
or hyper-polite tone. It explicitly states, numerous
times, that the GOP stands little to no chance of
winning more of the minority vote and that the GOP
needs to reduce immigration if it is to escape
extinction. This is a big deal because Horowitz has
the ear of several influential people close to Bush
and his pamphlets are widely read among Republican
strategists. Perhaps there is hope yet.
