This is kinda funny. The folks at NPR have just stumbled on the abuse and explosion of disability compensation (SSI):

By the way, in the NPR stories they focus on Dale County, Alabama where 25% of adults are on SSI.

Unlike NPR, I bothered to looked up the demographics of Dale—it’s 58 percent black.
