Re: Joe Guzzardi`s Column: To My Agnostic, Atheist, Jewish and Muslim Friends: Merry Christmas!

Please don`t lump people like me in with Muslims, Jews, or anti-Christian unbelievers.

And especially don`t group me with the politically correct mentally ill. I`m an atheist, but often I`m the first to wish someone a Merry Christmas.

Usually it`s the poor store clerk or call-center employee on the other end of the phone that was instructed not to use "Christmas" to his customers.

Why do I say "Merry Christmas?"

Because that`s the name of the holiday! And since most people in the Western civilization that I so cherish celebrate it, why not?

If I know the person I`m speaking to is Jewish, then I`ll wish them "Happy Hanukkah." It`s not my place, or anyone else`s, to take away somebody`s holiday.

Merry Christmas to all of you at VDARE.COM!
