Grim times call for grim men
Sessions is not only excellent on Amnesty itself, he is forceful and articulate in denouncing the stealth GOP Establishment agenda of accelerated legal immigration. How many other Republicans would dare say of the treasonous U.S. Chamber of Commerce:
The Chamber’s primary goal has never been to establish a lawful immigration system and secure our borders, but to get as much cheap labor as possible—regardless of how it impacts American workers, legal immigrants, and taxpayers in general.
Sen. Jeff Sessions slams immigration pact supported by GOP House majority leader, [by Neil Munro, The Daily Caller, February 22, 2013].
But what has really impressed me is the evidence that Sessions has the moral fiber to withstand the most extreme form of Reconquista mau-mauing face to face as vividly demonstrated in Latinos plead with Sen. Jeff Sessions asking him to help them and their families By Charles J. Dean, (email him) AL.com, February 20, 2013.
A group estimated at 30 Hispanics had invaded a meeting that Sessions was holding in Russellville, Alabama—about 40 voters were there, “mostly white”. (Horrors!) The purpose: to intimidate Sessions with sob stories.
It did not work. One Myra Rangel opened:
"Sir, we come wanting to ask you for help for our families that you might help our families who want to find a way to make the immigration system better for us. Our lives are depending on this. We want to keep our families together and we need help," said Rangel, who lives in Blount County
"Let me ask you, don`t you think we should have an immigration system that follows the law?" Sessions asked Rangel. Before she could answer, Sessions said, "I believe the U.S. should have a lawful system of immigration and it should serve the national interest, not special interest, not big business interest, not agricultural interest."[Links in quotes added by VDARE.com]
"But what about the interest of families?" she said. "Latinos are suffering, sir. We need something to fix immigration. We are asking you to help our families stay together so we can stay a part of our community and our country. America is our country now too."
“I do not think that those who come into the country illegally should get every benefit the nation has to offer just because they are here. I do not feel a moral or legal obligation to allow those who entered illegally to benefit from breaking the law.”
Another Hispanic, “Rosa Calderon of Harvest,” tried the DREAMer tearjerker trick:
"Senator, I came to America when I was just six year old," Calderon said. "I had no choice. I went to school here. I was raised here. I`m as American as American can be. I love this country as do Latinos across this country. But you are saying because someone made a mistake years ago, a mistake in your eyes but in their eyes it was not a mistake because they were trying to find a better life for their families, you are saying you do not get a second chance?"
Sessions did not flinch.
Sessions was shaking his head no.
"We need to reestablish the rule of law," said Sessions. "People can`t break the law and then demand the rights of citizenship….our citizens have been pleading with their government for 20 or 30 years to fix this problem and their government—Democrats and Republicans—have not solved the problem."
In one of a number of well-argued postings in the article’s comment thread, “Charletta46” asserted:
Did anyone note the “BrownBeret" with the group? The community organizer? This was a nationwide effort by Activist Latino Groups to intimidate Senators and Representatives at Town hall Meetings during this week. In Kansas buses of Dreamer were bused in to dominate the meetings…Reports are coming in from all over the USA that this effort of intimidation was done...to push the Amnesty bill being rammed down the throat of the USA people by Cecille Munoz..Dir. of Intergov. Affairs for Obama and head Propaganda writer for LaRaza for twenty years.
The innocent wannabe-cool reporters so down with the "oppressed" are punched like cards by the savvy professional LaRaza teams.
Charletta46 may be right about the Russellville meeting. Al.com’s Dean reported
Before the dinner got… groups supporting an overhaul of the nation`s immigration system stood vigil in the bone-chilling cold outside the Todd Center singing songs, holding candles and reading from the Bible.
Neither of these groups is in business to preserve America.
For that, immigration patriots are looking to Senator Sessions.
As I said back in 2006: Time for President Sessions (R- AL)?
