To understand just how far gone the country down the rabbit hole of George Floyd-influenced hysteria, there’s no need to follow a white rabbit. You won’t encounter a Mad Hatter or a Cheshire Cat, just continuous reminders of a nation once existing but lost in the tears of Floydism. One theory: NBA players tend to have an unfortunately high average rate of doing bad things to women in their free time. The NBA subsidizing the Women’s NBA helps buy off the lesbian feminist movement from complaining much about it. [Comment at Unz.com]...

A reader writes: Dear Steve, I was amused to see your article today linking deafness politics to trans politics. As someone who was born mostly deaf, I’ve thought about these parallels before and considered writing something on it, though I’m not sure I’ve seen anyone else note the connection. One interesting thing you didn’t mention is how the radical stance is reversed across the two cases. Tha...

A great lineup of speakers, as usual.

I never tire of telling this story: Years ago, at an American Renaissance conference, a friend who had just arrived for the Friday evening reception of his second conference, walked up to me and said, “It’s great to be among the living again.” That was 15 years ago, at a time when the mental distance between an AmRen conference goer and a CNN reporter was—what?—half what it is today.

The things we are supposed to at least pretend to believe grow more psychotic every day, so it is all the more thrilling to be in the same room with hundreds of clear-headed unbelievers. And you can still join us. This year’s American Renaissance conference (November 12-14) is only a little more than three weeks away, but we still have seats available.

As usual, we have a great line up. Perennial stars such as Sam Dickson—who has closed every conference since the very first one 27 years ago—and VDARE.com’s Peter Brimelow will be joined by exciting newcomers. David Cole is one of those geniuses who can write about deadly serious things without sounding deadly serious. He is my favorite among the many sharp people who write for Taki’s Magazine, and I can assure you he is as charming and funny in person as he is in print (or on screen?).

We are also happy to be welcoming Michelle Malkin for her first time. She is certainly one of the most courageous, hard-hitting columnists in the mainstream today, and we are delighted she will be joining us.

We will also be hearing from two of the most dynamic young parliamentarians in Europe today. Ruuben Kaalep was the head of the youth movement of the Conservative People’s Party of Estonia before his election in 2019, age 26, to the Estonian parliament. This will be his second AmRen conference appearance. He has, of course, been given all the honorific titles our detractors bestow on anyone who can think straight.

In 2019, Dries Van Langenhove became the youngest person ever elected to the Belgian Chamber of Representatives. He is a committed nationalist, and has become one of the most popular members of parliament. Travel from the continent may be complicated by Covid, but we will at least be hearing from our European comrades by video.

If you really, really miss Donald Trump, MSNBC may just be for you! Biden is cratering, fuel prices are skyrocketing (hey, anybody seen Greta Thunberg?), hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens are pouring across our border, and the murder rate keeps hitting historic highs. But the establishment media can’t stop talking about TRUMP.

Four weeks ago in Taki’s Magazine, I cited the huge issue for the future of our country raised by the Establishment meltdown over a photo of a Border Patrolman on horseback responding to a Haitian immigrant: The sudden crossing of the Rio Grande river at Del Rio, Texas, by 15,000 Haitians is a reminder that the most prophetic novel of the last half century was the late Jean Raspail’s 1973 book ...

From my new column in Taki’s Magazine: The FDA’s approval in 1990 of cochlear implants that enable some of the deaf to hear set off a political struggle. On one side were the hearing parents of deaf children, who tend to assume that five senses are better than four. On the other were deaf civil rights activists who saw technological fixes for an identity they didn’t view as needing repair as sti...

It's not that the Biden Administration can't accomplish things that it wants to. It's that the things it wants to accomplish are designed to make the country worse.  Planeloads of underage migrants are being flown secretly into suburban New York in an effort by President Biden’s administration to quietly resettle them across the region, The Post has learned. The charter flights originate in Texas,...

Charles Murray (The Bell Curve, Coming Apart, Human Diversity) is rightly bitter about the disgraceful shutout of his latest book Facing Reality: Two Truths About Race from the current U.S. and international debate—actually, dogma—about “systemic racism.” But what this shutout shows is that what John Derbyshire has called a “Murraytopia”— “people accept reality, including the reality of race differences, and social advancement is strictly meritocraticc”—is impossible. And, more immediately, it shows that “Murrayism”—trying reasonably to discuss racial differences while making many concessions to the anti-science Left and suppressing Politically Incorrect science that goes further—has failed. Now what?

Murray laid out his disillusionment and despair in a Twitter thread this summer:

Perhaps indicative of this despair, Murray has petulantly refused to review Kathryn Paige Harden’s disingenuous attempt to make genetics palatable to progressives, The Genetic Lottery, because she used him—again disgracefully—as a strawman:

Earlier, by Michelle Malkin: Mask Mandates Are a Public Health Menace

COLORADO SPRINGS—The latest horror story involving COVID-19 control freaks erupted right here in my backyard on Friday. It's breathtaking. Literally. No responsible parent can in good conscience sit by silently while pandemic tyrants choke off our children's freedom and oxygen supply.

Stephanie M. is a work-at-home mother of three young daughters. On Friday, she received a text from her sixth grade daughter, Rylee. It was a selfie photo of the girl taken at Chinook Trail Middle School in Colorado Springs. The school is in District 20, which imposed a blanket indoor mask mandate a month ago for all preschool through 12th grade students. Rylee's face was covered not only by a black mask but also by three thick strips of blue painter's tape sealing the top of the mask over the bridge of her nose.

European leaders learned an important lesson from the 2015 “migrant” crisis: People hate Open Borders. In response to the current crisis, the Euro Establishment has reacted much differently. Leaders are calling for fortified walls, expulsions, and a firm no to “migrant” incursions. Even European Leftists don’t want to repeat the same mistake. Contrast that with our Ruling Class. They see hordes pouring across the border—and demand we make things easier for them. Republicans have shown some improvement on immigration over the previous decade (although even Republicans agreed with importing unvetted Afghan “refugees) but they’re not in charge. The Democrats are, and they’re fanatically committed to Electing A New People.

Europe’s leaders now just aren’t. While many still condemn immigration criticism as “hate speech” and claim nationalism gravely threatens “democracy,” they clearly understand immigration must be contained. Recently, the interior ministers of Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, and Slovakia signed a joint letter that called upon the European Union to finance the construction of border walls [Dozen ministers want EU to finance border walls, by Nikolaj Nielsen, EU Observer, October 8, 2021]. And Poland says it will build one on its own along its border with Belarus, which the EU accuses of weaponizing illegal immigrants to retaliate over sanctions [The EU accuses Belarus of luring global migrants into other European countries, by Rob Schmitz, NPR, October 12, 2021].
