Earlier: Trump's Speech Hated By People Who Hate America and A Culture War Battle Trump Can Win

President Trump made a start towards recasting the presidential race on July 4, but he needs to match his words with actions. The unhinged Main Stream Media response to what would have been considered patriotic banalities from any other president shows he has an opening to rally America against JournoFa and in defense of our heroes, history, and identity. But American identity is fragmenting because people are given specific incentives to disassociate from it. My view: Trump needs to run on a civic nationalist platform with three essential components: ending Affirmative Action racial privileges; immigration restriction; economic populism. A symbolic Culture War just won’t be enough.

Trump didn’t say anything revolutionary or especially right-wing in his July 4 address. It shows how beaten down American patriots are that so many reacted to it like a man in the desert would react to an oasis [Trump’s Independence Day Speech Was Not ‘Dark’ Or ‘Divisive,’ It Was American, by Margot Cleveland, The Federalist, July 6, 2020]. But contrast the way leading newspapers covered it:

What was so “dark” and “warlike” about Trump’s speech? Nothing. Brit Hume at Fox News has proclaimed it “utterly mystifying” that America’s leading newspapers and journalists found the speech so troubling. “I have rarely seen such biased and misleading coverage and such extravagant opinion reaction to this than I saw this weekend,” he said [Brit Hume: Why biased coverage of Trump’s Mount Rushmore speech ‘ could be a turning point,by Talia Kaplan, Fox News, July 7, 2020].

Of course, this isn’t “mystifying” at all to us. There is a vast Diversity Industry that incentivizes people to not associate themselves with American history and identity. Consider Colin Kaepernick. He denounced July 4 as a “white supremacist” celebration. This was completely different from what he was tweeting just a few years ago [Colin Kaepernick mocked for tweet calling 4th of July ‘celebration of white supremacy, Fox6, July 6 2020].

Has Kaepernick paid a price for this? No, he has not. Instead, he’s getting a fawning documentary from Disney, once the most mainstream “Americana” company that could possibly exist [Colin Kaepernick, Disney announce partnership deal, ESPN, July 6, 2020].

Much to the horror of the Dem/Main Stream Media Complex, June’s job data seemed to confirm that a “V-shaped recovery” is underway. And, even more significant from VDARE.com’s standpoint: both the immigrant workforce population (legal and illegal, federal data does not distinguish) and immigrant displacement of American workers continue their remarkable collapse. This is developing into a major, if unreported, Trump triumph—but it must be locked in, at least by prolonging the temporary immigration moratorium he finally enacted June 22.

U.S. payrolls grew by 4.8 million in June, according to the BLS. This was the second straight month of remarkable gains after a loss of 20 million in April, when a large share of the working age population hunkered down in self-quarantine. The unemployment rate in June fell to 11.1%, down from a peak of 14.7% in April.

There are still nearly 15 million fewer jobs in June than in February, before the pandemic forced businesses to close. However, in May, 3.8 million jobs were created. When added to June’s gain, about 9 million jobs lost during the pandemic have already been restored. If monthly job gains continue at this rate, we will recover all the pandemic-related job losses within 3 to 4 months.

Our analysis of the “other” employment survey, of Households rather than businesses, which reports immigration data, uncovers an even more robust picture for June: Employment as measured by the Household Survey jumped by 4.94 million.

Rushmore

Earlier, by Steve Sailer: Trump's Speech Hated By People Who Hate America

Speaking at Mount Rushmore on Friday, and from the White House lawn on Saturday, July 4, Donald Trump recast the presidential race.

He seized upon an issue that can turn his fortunes around, and the wounded howls of the media testify to the power of his message.

Standing beneath the mammoth carved images of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt, Trump declared: "Angry mobs are trying to tear down statues of our founders, deface our most sacred memorials, and unleash a wave of violent crime in our cities."

These mobs are made up of Marxists, criminals and anarchists. Their cause is a cultural revolution. "Their goal is not a better America. Their goal is the end of America."

After reciting the achievements of his four predecessors, Trump added: "No movement that seeks to dismantle these treasured American legacies can possibly have a love of America at its heart."

Above, Tucker Carlson asks "How precisely is diversity our strength?", in 2018, causing heads to explode in the MSM.

Tucker Carlson In 2024…Or Is He Already Here?

Americans just heard President Trump deliver a stirring oration at beneath the statues at Mount Rushmore, BLM’s latest cancel target egged on by the Main Stream Media [Remarks by President Trump at South Dakota’s 2020 Mount Rushmore Fireworks Celebration | Keystone, South Dakota, WhiteHouse.gov, July 4, 2020]. Trump not only praised the white men on the mountain but also delivered a searing indictment of the BLM-Antifa Marxists. Was this “wheel and fight” inspired by Fox’s Tucker Carlson?

Carlson is the one man with a national audience and the power to mobilize it who has challenged the Stupid Party for capitulating to Black Lives Matter and its false narrative that the United States of America is irredeemably evil. Last week, the most-watched cable host in history deep-sixed two idiotic legislative proposals from the Cuckservative GOP Senate: to replace Columbus Day with Juneteenth, and to “reform” Qualified Immunity for police involved in shootings. Carlson actually bulldozed the sponsoring GOP senators into dropping them. The amazing victories have pro-Trump forces in the GOP wondering: Is Carlson the man to pick up The Donald’s standard in 2024?

On Monday, June 29, Carlson unloaded on Indiana Sen. Mike Braun over his police reform bill that would end Qualified Immunity, which protects law enforcement, firefighters, and other public servants from frivolous lawsuits. Braun’s bill would open every officer in America to far-Left lawfare.

Braun appeared on Carlson’s program because he had criticized the bill the previous week. Braun claimed to represent “Main Street,” yet his only defense for backshooting the cops was that Republicans “need to be in the discussion” of “systemic racism.”

Carlson’s aim was true. He said Braun didn’t represent Main Street, then skewered the senator’s claim that police support the bill, and finally mocked him for caving to the radical left.

“So you’re taking your cues from Chuck Schumer?” Carlson fumed. “You’re saying Chuck Schumer might criticize me; therefore, I have to pass a law that makes it easier to sue police?"

Carlson finished Braun with a brutal blast: “You think you're going to keep the Senate in the fall with this platform?... I don’t think the public supports you at all on this.”

[Excerpted from the latest Radio Derb, now available exclusively through VDARE.com]

My June Diary included the following observation:

Our courts are choc-full—I think that's the right expression—of black judges, black DAs, and black prosecutors pushing for anti-white outcomes.

That was inspired by reading, in my June 27th New York Post, about a nasty little spat between the New York City Police Department's detectives union and 56 Bronx prosecutors—assistant district attorneys, to be precise. [ NYPD detectives’ union outraged over Bronx ADAs’ letter over protest conduct, by Rebecca Rosenberg,   June 26, 2020]

These 56 prosecutors—35 named and 21 anonymous—sent a joint letter to their boss, Bronx DA Darcel Clark [Tweet her](a black lady, right) urging the DA to make "an unequivocal condemnation of the [police department's] unwarranted use of violence."

One other prosecutor, name of Paul Rosenfeld, published a dissenting letter describing the police officers he's worked with across 39 years as, quote, "decent, hard-working, and committed." [JPG]
