Marc Thiessen had recent op-ed column poking fun at all the stern pronouncements we've had from senior Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Elizabeth Warren that "no-one is above the law." [Democrats say no one is above the law — except on immigration, Washington Post, July 16, 2019]They are, of course, speaking in reference to supposed misdeeds by President Trump. Meanwhile, from the other side of their mouths, they are hyperventilating about how cruelly barbaric it is—"a crime against humanity" according to Kamala Harris, to enforce the people's laws on immigration. [Kamala Harris: Immigration Raids Are 'A Crime Against Humanity', by Susan Jones, CNSNews, July 12, 2019].

The notion of fair laws impartially administered is one of the great glories of Anglo-Saxon civilization. As a reminder of how things go elsewhere, I refer you to an article written by President Xi Jinping of communist China, published over there February 19th:

We must never follow the path of Western "constitutionalism," "separation of powers," or "judicial independence."

Xi: China Must Never Adopt Constitutionalism, Separation of Powers, or Judicial Independence,  by Charlotte Gao, Diplomat.com, February 19, 2019

Mockery quotes there around those three terms

That's what he said: I checked the original Chinese: 决不能走西方 "宪政"、 "三权鼎立"、 "司法独立" 的路子.

But now our own Ruling Class seems to agree with President Xi. Those lofty ideals of judicial independence and equality under the law are looking pretty ragged in the U.S.A. right now.

Equal justice under law? Illegal alien scofflaws enjoy the favor and protection of the most powerful people in the land. Violent anarchist gangs own the streets of Portland, Oregon, and no-one in authority wants to prosecute them.

Richard Lynn, now 89, is known for his research into national and race differences in average intelligence, having relatively recently published the most comprehensive and up-to-date book available on national differences in IQ. But although ethnic and racial differences in intelligence explain quite a lot, they still leave some phenomena not quite making sense. Lynn resolves this in his new book, edited by Mankind Quarterly editor and Jolly Heretic vlogger Edward Dutton: Race Differences in Psychopathic Personality: An Evolutionary Analysis.

https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61sO7JxrUIL.jpgThus, for example, Blacks of equal IQ to whites nevertheless still appear to be systematically more violent, more criminal, more sexually promiscuous, less interested in long term relationships and more prone to taking very serious risks with their own safety and that of others: speeding, driving while intoxicated, not wearing a seat belt. Clearly, IQ does not account for everything

Lynn says he was inspired to try to make sense of this by a comment from Richard Herrnstein and Charles Murray in The Bell Curve. They noted:

Some ethnic differences are not washed away by controlling for either intelligence or for any other variables that we examined. We leave those remaining differences unexplained and look forward to learning from our colleagues where the explanations lie.

For Lynn, this challenge was simply too enticing to resist. He wondered whether—because different races are evolved to different ecologies in which the benefits of being able to create trusting and cooperative groups vary—the explanation might lie in race differences in modal personality. Specifically, he wondered if there were consistent differences in the proportion of each race that expressed “Psychopathic Personality” (now officially known as “Antisocial Behavior Disorder”) then the anomaly highlighted by Herrnstein and Murray would potentially make sense.

As Lynn explains in his new book, psychopathic personality is characterized by:

…general poverty of affect, defective insight, absence of nervousness and anxiety, lack of remorse or shame, superficial charm, pathological lying, egocentricity, inability to love, failure to establish close or intimate relationships, irresponsibility, impulsive psychopathic acts, failure to learn from experience, reckless behavior under the influence of alcohol, and a lack of long term goals.

President Trump apparently can’t decide whether he wants to be a nationalist for 2020 or a conventional GOP candidate. This internal battle was in full display this week.. The crowd at Trump’s Greenville NC rally spontaneously chanted “Send her back!” in response to his attack on Ilhan Omar (D.-Minnedishu). Trump seemed to appreciate it—but then appeared to disavow it the next day [Trump blames his supporters for echoing his racist words, by Zach Ford, Think Progress, July 18, 2019]. This epitomizes Trump’s dilemma: the crowds want the old Trump, not the post-election Trump controlled by Javanka. At least (not for the first time) Trump seemed to be backing away from his advisers by week’s end.[Donald Trump defends rally crowd that chanted 'send her back,' calling them 'incredible patriots', by David Jackson, USA TODAY, July 19, 2019]

The energetic Greenville crowd, numbering around 8,000, roared for the wall and Trump’s attacks against Democrats [Trump takes on ‘The Squad’ in N.C.; crowd chants ‘send her back’, by Bill Hand, GateHouse Media, July 17, 2019]. Along with Rep. Omar, the president also lambasted Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (whom he simply called Cortez), House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Rep. Rashida Tlaib. Significantly, immigration was his chosen line of attack. He mocked Ocasio-Cortez’s contention that illegal immigrants are more American than the native-born. He noted Omar’s anti-Americanism and her frequent attacks on Israel. He did not actually mention his tweets suggesting she to go back to her “crime infested” country—but the crowd remembered and chanted “send her back!” with the same enthusiasm they chanted “lock her up!” three years ago.

Significantly, however, that the crowd did not appreciate Trump’s call for more high-skilled immigrants. “We believe in an immigration system based on merit, merit where they come in. We have so many companies coming in, automobile companies, companies of all types, and we need workers. We actually need workers. We have the lowest unemployment rate that we've had in 51 years,” Trump said. The crowd remained silent—and only offered muted applause at him repeating the “merit-based” claim shortly thereafter.

The Cold Civil War” is heating up with the fight between President Donald Trump and “The Squad” of Leftist minority congresswomen, particularly former refugee Ilhan Omar. The question in this political struggle is as fundamental as the one at the center of the more violent 19th century conflict: The Republican base clearly believes the U.S. is a majority-white country rooted in the traditions of the Founding—the Historic American Nation. But Democrats (and some of the controlled opposition in Conservatism Inc.) think America belongs to the entire world—that it isn’t really a nation at all. This is an irrepressible conflict. and lines are clearly drawn between a GOP base that believes in the old America and Leftists who explicitly want to replace it.

President Trump’s base is to the right of the Commander-in-Chief himself. Thus the Main Stream Media smeared Trump’s tweets against Ilhan Omar and others a “racially charged attack,” but grassroots Republican support for the president actually increased afterward [Republican support for Trump after racially charged tweets: Reuters/Ipsos poll, by Chris Kahn, Reuters, July 16, 2019]. This is especially striking because most of Conservatism Inc. condemned him in hysterical terms [Donald Trump’s Tweets Were Malicious, and Republican Silence is Deafening, by David French, National Review, July 15, 2019]. At the most recent rally, it was the attendees who spontaneously chanting “send her back” in reference to Ilhan Omar [Trump blasts 4 congresswomen; crowd roars, ‘Send her back!’, by Deb Reichmann, AP, July 18, 2019]. Beltway Right types and the Main Stream Media condemned it in their typically scripted way. And back in the White House, Trump backed off—putting him the extraordinary position of disavowing his own voters [Trump disavows ‘send her back’ chant from his rally, Politico, July 18, 2019].

The Republican base clearly wants real action on immigration, including deportations and a wall. Yet little has materialized. There’s bluster, but no action. President Trump speaks loudly, but carries a small stick. If he’s just going to denounce people for repeating his own opinions, he’d be better off not saying anything at all. [Trump says not happy with backers’ ‘send her back’ chant, AP, July 18, 2019]
