PK Note: If you haven’t, pick up a copy of Their Lives Matter Too. It documents scores of black on white homicides over the past 10 years you’ve never, ever heard of. He was a senior in high school, with his whole life in front of him. He had aspirations, goals, and was filled with ambition. He was murdered by two black teenagers, aged 13 and 14-years-old in a “robbery gone wrong.” His name is Mat...

Indiana mayor Pete Buttigieg is the first openly homosexual man ever to run to be President of the United States. He’s even married to junior high school teacher Chasten Glezman (who, interestingly has taken Buttigieg’s surname [Pete Buttigieg’s Husband Chasten Has an Incredible Backstory, By Emma Dibdin, O: The Oprah Magazine, July 31, 2019]). The Mainstream Media can hardly contain its delight at the fact that Buttigieg, who is only 37, is doing so well: He is one of the “Top 4” contenders for the Democratic nomination [Democratic debates: Snoozefest has top 4 running in place as other 6 feebly jab, By Melissa Schultz & Aaron Fels, New York Post, November 21, 2019]. It almost seems impolite to point out that gays, like women, are systematically more prone to certain personality traits that, while obviously not disqualifying, are problematic in political leaders.

Not only is Buttigieg gay, but he is a “gay Christian.” This allows him to try to “square the circle” for more conservative potential voters: Gay? Yes. But also a traditionalist Christian. If ex-men getting to shower in the women’s locker room is “the civil rights issue of our time,” then civil rights is pretty much done and over. Which it is, of course. Health hysteria goes viral. There are screaming headlines all over.

So what is the body count here? Twenty-six as I write this; so far as I can gather, all of them in China, all or most in or near the central city of Wuhan.

Twenty-six dead? In a nation of 1.4 billion? It's too bad for the loved ones of those twenty-six, of course. Send not to know For whom the bell tolls. There but for the grace of God, … and so on. Proper sympathy and respect. But … twenty-six? In Communist China? Prison guards in Tibet probably clubbed twenty-six Buddhist nuns to death over the same span of time.

So what accounts for all the hysteria? A number of things.

If you want to donate to  the American Renaissance legal fund, send a check, money order (or cash!) made out to “American Renaissance” Box 527, Oakton, VA 22124.

American Renaissance is pleased to announce our 18th national conference to be held on the weekend of May 29/31.. We have a top-flight lineup of speakers and—thanks to a protracted and bitterly-fought legal victory—we will be able to meet in our now-traditional Tennessee location in complete security.

Our roster of exciting speakers includes two Europeans: Renaud Camus and Dries Van Langenhove. Mr. Camus is famous as the Frenchman who coined the phrase “The Great Replacement” to describe what is happening to white populations all around the world. He was an influential author and political writer long before he started writing about immigration, and is a winner of both the Prix Fénéon and the French Academy’s Prix Amic. You can imagine the consternation of French elites when this distinguished man of letters began to write forcefully against the replacement of Europeans.

Mr. Camus lives in Occitanie in southern France in a castle built in 1340. Mr. Camus speaks marvelous English; he wrote his latest book You Will Not Replace Us! in English.

Dries Van Langenhoven is the founder of Belgium’s largest political youth movement, Schild & Vrienden. Here is a short video of the kind of activism his group does.

"Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done. He was a career politician." So says Hillary Clinton of her former Senate colleague and 2016 rival for the Democratic nomination, Bernie Sanders.

Her assessment of Sanders' populist-socialist agenda?

"It's all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it."

Does that assessment still hold with Sanders now running strong in Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada, and having emerged, according to The New York Times, as "the dominant liberal force in the 2020 race"?

"Yes, it does," said Clinton, who left open the possibility she might not support Sanders if he became the nominee.

In her interview with The Hollywood Reporter to promote a documentary that premieres Saturday at the Sundance Film Festival, Clinton also tore into Bernie's backers.

"It is not only him. It's the culture around him. It's his leadership team. It's his prominent supporters. It's his online Bernie Bros and their relentless attacks on lots of his competitors, particularly the women," said Clinton. "It should be worrisome that he has permitted this culture—not only permitted (he) seems to be very much supporting it."

Guatemalans Protect Guatemalans In U.S. Immigration Courts

Just after New Year’s, VDARE brought you the horror story of a Guatemalan child rapist who might never be caught because of what the MSM Naples Daily News politely called a “language barrier.”

The latest from Guatemala City’s second largest newspaper, Prensa Libre: many Guatemalans who cross the border don’t speak English or Spanish:

If migrating illegally to the United States is difficult, it is even worse  for those who do it  knowing neither  English nor Spanish, as in the case of thousands of indigenous Guatemalans who,  pushed out by poverty in rural areas, have made the trip, despite the fact that they only speak their mother tongue.

[Guatemaltecos cuidan a otros guatemaltecos en las cortes de inmigración (“Guatemalans take care of other Guatemalans in Immigration Courts”), by Sergio Morales Rodas, January 4, 2020]

It seems translators in the “Maya language” are in short supply.

That used of the singular hides an important truth. Guatemala recognizes 21 such languages; Mexico recognizes eight. Some of them might well be called dialects of the same language, but in any event finding an interpreter for an immigrant takes some doing:

Therefore, the “American Dream” of these persons is transformed into a nightmare when, upon arriving to the border, they don’t understand what the U.S. border officers say to them, many of whom take it for granted that being Guatemalan, they speak Spanish.

Pardon me for asking, but isn’t the American Dream for Americans?
