What Will A GOP House Do On Immigration?

Earlier, by Federale:  What Can The Republican House Do On Immigration? A Lot, Even With A Small Majority

The midterms weren’t a complete disaster for Republicans. They won the House and can act on the illegal-alien invasion at the southwest border. The GOP campaigned (too quietly) on the border crisis and voters who rated immigration as an important issue were more likely to go Republican. Polls show widespread disapproval for Joe Biden’s policy of Open Borders. Americans want their government to secure the border and to deport illegal aliens. They also want those responsible for this attack on the Historic American Nation to pay a price. So what will a GOP-led House will likely do—and not do—on immigration?

  • Amnesty Is Dead

Immigration patriots should be most happy with what Congress will not do. Almost certainly, Amnesty will not pass a Republican-controlled House. Democrats tried to pass three Amnesties last year. One legalized the so-called Dreamers (illegal aliens who came to the U.S. as minors), another legalized illegal-alien farm workers, and the third was the budget bill that would have legalized millions of illegals. The first two Amnesties received some Republican support, but a number of those Republicans are gone. The third received only Democratic support and, like the other two bills, died in the Senate.

Another proposed Amnesty, President Biden’s brainstorm, would have given all illegal aliens a pathway to citizenship. It was dead on arrival. Republican senators John Cornyn and Thom Tillis tried to offer a limited Amnesty for Dreamers (only those who signed up for the Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals program would get legal status), but Democrats rejected it as not enough.

California’s Kevin McCarthy, expected to be the next House Speaker, pledged before the election that a GOP-controlled House would not consider any Amnesty. That likely kills any attempt to revive either Amnesty that received GOP support last year. It also ensures that Democrats cannot sneak an Amnesty into a budget bill. Control of the House allows Republicans to kill these bad ideas in committee and determine if they even get floor vote [Kevin McCarthy Pledges as Speaker He Will Not Consider Amnesty or Gun Control Legislation, by Matthew Boyle, Breitbart, January 10, 2022].

Not pushing for Amnesty might not sound like much of an accomplishment. But it’s a major improvement from the pre-Trump GOP. After Republicans lost the 2012 elections, GOP brainstrusters thought passing an Amnesty was the party’s only hope to recover. Many conservative commentators and Republican lawmakers pushed for it. Several GOP senators voted for the Gang of Eight Amnesty in 2013. Now, a grand Amnesty of that nature has no chance of passing. Republicans know their base hates Amnesty, and that Democrats will not offer border security in exchange for a pathway to citizenship. It’s either straight legalization or nothing. Both sides have grown closer to their bases on this issue, which undermines any possibility of a deal. That’s good news for immigration patriots.

If you want a taste of the Woke ideology peddled by too many contemporary American evangelical preachers (I speak as a disgusted patriot Evangelical), check out Woke Preacher Clips on YouTube—subtitled Theology At The Intersection Of Woke And Cringe at the channel’s Facebook page. It’s like the wildly popular Libs of Tik Tok Twitter feed, but features videos of evangelical preachers who spew sermons that are blatantly anti-white, anti-Christian, and crazily pro-immigration.

Here are a few examples:

  • Immigration

Well-known evangelicals are positively celebrating the demographic transformation of the country, apparently because they think their churches will benefit.

Thus Tim Keller, founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City and the author of the highly successful Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism, believes the browning of America by Third World immigrants is a good thing because they will replace whites who are leaving churches:

I believe that the dechurching thing will bottom out in about 20 or 30 years, because, number one, immigration means that nonwhite people are a lot less secular, a lot less individualistic than white people. … [A]s our culture becomes more multiethnic and as the nominal believers leave and we get down to the converted, you’re going to find that the church [is] starting to grow back in many, many ways.

[Tim Keller: Immigration Will Contribute To U.S. Revival, “Non-White People Are A Lot Less Secular,” May 19, 2021]

Similarly, speaking at a Redemptive Unity Seminar at Perimeter Church in Atlanta, Ligon Duncan, chancellor of Reformed Theological Seminary, asked “What if that is God’s plan to reverse secularization in the United States?” He went on:

What if immigration is part of God’s strategy to reverse that in the United States?

And the people that don’t look like me, actually, because they believe like me, are much closer to me than people who do look like me and who don’t believe the Bible and don’t believe in Jesus and don’t believe the gospel.

Oh, that gets me excited!

[Ligon Duncan: What If Immigration Is ‘God’s Plan To Reverse Secularization In the United States’?, October 16, 2021]

Elsewhere in the video, Duncan explained that the 1965 Immigration Act is responsible for the demographic transformation of the United States. So he applauded the Great Replacement.

Apparently, Keller and Duncan haven’t noticed or thought about a few things, not least that whites

Above, independent scholars Emil Kirkegaard and Noah Carl

It’s not often that one reads an article that one disagrees with so strongly that one has to do the modern equivalent of writing a letter of protest to the local newspaper. However, this recently happened to me with regard to The Jews Are Ye’s Misfortune, [by David Cole, Taki’s Mag, October 25, 2022], which asserted that there are no younger people writing about race realism—the vital issue of racial differences and their consequences and the heritability and impact of intelligence. There most certainly are, though they are not necessarily in the traditional places, such as universities.

Cole’s complex piece, which characteristically bashed a remarkable number of targets, concluded equally characteristically that Ye (né Kanye West) was right in highlighting that “Jewish overrepresentation in business, finance, entertainment, and medicine is a real thing, one that the ADL would always prefer not to discuss.”

My particular objection among Cole’s bashing:

This is something nobody on the far right likes to talk about, but the fact is, the thought leaders who can rationally and persuasively write about issues of race (not just Jewish stuff but matters involving IQ heritability and race and crime) are aging out, and no one’s replacing them. Where’s the new generation of Taylors and Brimelows? My [Takimag] colleague Steve Sailer isn’t old by normal standards, but it says a lot about a movement when the 64-year-old guy is “the kid.”

I protest! It simply cannot stand that the “older generation” of Human Biodiversity researchers are “aging out and no one’s replacing them.”

As far as journalism goes, as American Renaissance’s Jared Taylor commented in an email to VDARE.com:

I think Cole is brilliant to the point of near genius, but he's wrong on this. There are some very smart young guys: Pedro Gonzalez, Ron Unz, Ed Dutton, Emil Kirkegaard, James Kirkpatrick. You could even include some of the offbeat characters Unz publishes.

But of course these are all non-MSM figures. Significantly, Charles (The Bell Curve) Murray’s recent book Facing Reality: Two Truths About Race refuting the Black Lives Matter Blood Libel was completely shut out of MSM debate.

Jared Taylor continued:

Where the old guard is dying off and not being replaced is in Universities. Jensen, Rushton, Harpending, and Eysenck are dead. Lynn, Gottfredson, and Nyborg are retired. No one is bringing along graduate students.

I have to admit that Taylor is on to something here.

However, while I don’t mean to toot my own horn—well, okay, I do, I’ve got books to promote—but I’m only 42

Earlier, by Steve Sailer: Sam Bankman-Fried’s Mom: ”The Philosophy Of Personal Responsibility Has Ruined Criminal Justice And Economic Policy. It’s Time To Move Past Blame” and Sam Bankman-Fried’s Aunt: ”Putting a Public Health Lens on Incarceration”

Imagine being raised to believe that there is no such thing as free will. How would your thinking develop if your mother informed you, from a very young age, that you couldn’t possibly be to blame for anything you did? What contribution would you make to the world if you absorbed the idea that you carried no moral responsibility for your actions, nothing you did was your fault and, in fact, you had no control whatsoever over anything you engaged in?

Well, we don’t have to imagine it, because it has just played out before our very eyes, with devastating consequences for large numbers of people.

Earlier this month the crypto-currency FTX dramatically collapsed, leaving up to $2 billion of investors’ money missing [Exclusive: At least $1 billion of client funds missing at failed crypto firm FTX, by Angus Berwick, Reuters, November 14, 2022]. FTX was founded in 2019. Headquartered in the Bahamas, Sam Bankman-Fried, aged 30, his 28 year-old girlfriend Caroline Ellison and four other young couples ran the crypto-currency from their shared house. There they seemingly engaged in some sort of polyamorous relationship, referred to by Ellison as a “foray into poly.” By January this year, the company was valued at $32 billion, had sponsored Mercedes at Formula 1, and by April Bankman-Fried was spending time with Bill Clinton, Tony Blair and Katie Perry at his “Crypto Bahamas Conference.” However, it all unraveled on November 2nd, when a major Chinese backer, Binance, pulled out of FTT (FTX’s trading token), possibly because it had emerged, via leaked documents, that Bankman-Fried’s crypto-currency trading company, AlAmeda, was heavily dependent on FTT.

By November 8th, the value of FTT had fallen by 72%. FTX filed for bankruptcy on November 11th. Bankman-Fried, a major Democrat donor who was notoriously Woke, confessed that his commitment to “ethics” was a “front” and he feels bad for people who were “fucked” by it.

As the crypto-currency unraveled, he transferred $10 billion to Alameda, although he is now being sued by former celebrity endorsers for $11 billion. Bankman-Fried also blamed Ellison, whom he appointed FTX chief executive despite a blatant lack of experience in such matters, for the collapse of the company [EXCLUSIVE: Ex-girlfriend blamed by Sam Bankman-Fried for failed FTX wrote about her ‘foray into poly,’ being in a ‘Chinese harem,’ thinks men are ‘cute’ if they ‘controlled most major world governments’—AND admits crypto is ‘mostly scams and memes,’ by Daniel Bates, Daily Mail, November 17, 2022].

Currently, Bankman-Fried remains in the Bahamas, though there is an ongoing extradition attempt
