A Houston Reader Says The Chronicle Never Quits Its Immigration Advocacy

The Houston Area Survey: Rotten To The Core
The
Houston Chronicle
never quits promoting immigration.
According to a
recent Chronicle op-ed:
"The reality is
that the overwhelming numbers of businesses never
knowingly hire anyone they believe is here illegally".
Why should we
believe this? Because the op-ed’s author, Jay Aiyer,
said so, that’s why.
Who is Aiyer? An
immigration lawyer at Houston’s Tindall and Foster
office!
Aren't you
impressed?
What’s Aiyer’s
answer to the illegal alien swamp ?
He recommends:
"…A comprehensive
approach that acknowledges the reality that we have more
than 12 million hardworking individuals here who lack
status but play a crucial role in our daily lives".
[“Stop Making Employers the Immigration Enemy,” Jay
Aiyer, Houston Chronicle, May 8, 2008]
Weinbaum is diligently
monitoring the
Chronicle’s bias. Previous letters from him exposing
their shoddy journalism are
here and
here.
Joe Guzzardi
adds: As awful as
Aiyer’s column is, the fact that the
Chronicle
identified him as an immigration lawyer may represent a
minor triumph. Often similar pro-immigration editorials
in the MainStream Media are published without that
reference.
Send Aiyer mail
here; Tindall and Foster
here; and contact
James Howard Gibbons, editor of the Chronicle’s
editorial page, to inquire when equal space will be
given to opposing but
fact-based arguments challenging Aiyer’s opinion.
Gibbons’ e-mail is
here.
I
nominate our
Ed Rubenstein
to write the next
Chronicle op-ed about
illegal aliens in the U.S. work force.
